OPENING for a TEMPORARY POST at the ECONOMIC & COMMERCIAL DEPARTMENT of the NETHERLANDS CONSULATE GENERAL in ISTANBUL

The Economic & Commercial Department of the Netherlands Consulate General assists companies and private/public organizations both in the Netherlands and Turkey in developing bilateral trade and investment relations. Together with the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Ankara, we handle more than 2,000 commercial inquiries per year. Our activities include organizing business missions, preparing market surveys and sector/region analyses as well as reporting on specific themes such as legal affairs, tenders and foreign direct investments. Furthermore, we are giving support to financial and technical assistance programs run by the Netherlands government.

We are looking for a "TEAM MEMBER" to join the Netherlands Economic & Commercial Department for three months starting from September 2008. The work scope will primarily be related to the preparations of the incoming business mission from the Netherlands while the daily workload of the economic and commercial department will also be shared with the TEAM MEMBER. This is an excellent opportunity for those who would like to have a temporary work experience in a dynamic and international business environment. Team work, putting your heart at work, reliability, being able to work under time pressure and delivery of results do matter for us. Excellent level of English and flexibility with working hours are also necessary.

Duration:
The TEAM MEMBER will be employed full-time for a period of three months starting from 01 September to 28 November.

Scope of Work:
Taking active role and responsibility as a part of the Economic & Commercial Department and giving support to the official Netherlands business mission preparations in November 2008.

Role & Requirements:
The TEAM MEMBER will be engaged in the daily workload of the Economic & Commercial Department (i.e., answering commercial inquiries, carrying out market surveys, preparing sector and regional reports while providing support to the rest of the team in mission preparations). Proven abilities in commercial/business development field are crucial as well as analytical thinking, researching, writing and verbal communication skills. Suitable candidates for the TEAM MEMBER position should at least hold an undergraduate degree, which is preferably related to economics and administrative sciences. Candidates with relevant job experience will be given priority.
